White Plains, New York (Monday, May 18, 2015) — Safe Flight Instrument Corporation of
White Plains, New York and Nextant Aerospace of Cleveland, Ohio are pleased to announce that Safe Flight’s AutoPower®, Automatic Throttle System (ATS), is in the final phase of certification with production deliveries scheduled to begin this quarter.
Nextant is reporting a strong order book for the AutoPower® System for the remanufactured Nextant 400XTi. The system can also be retrofit on the fielded 400XT aircraft already in service. PlaneSense, the launch customer for the AutoPower® equipped Nextant 400XTi, has executed 2 firm orders with options for 3 additional deliveries. Nextant has also confirmed additional sales to undisclosed customers for 2 AutoPower® installations later this year.
Nextant President Sean McGeough remarked, “We have been actively demonstrating the system to our current and potential Nextant customers and the market has responded extremely well resulting in a backlog of 4 firm sales and options for an additional 3 in 2015. We are always looking to enhance the safety and performance of our aircraft; Safe Flight’s AutoPower® does exactly this while matching our customers’ requirements with our product capabilities. The partnership with Safe Flight on the development of the 400XT ATS has been a tremendous success resulting in a full regime automatic throttle system optimized for our aircraft.”
“Everything earns its way onto our aircraft” said Ray Torres, Vice President of Flight Operations for PlaneSense, Inc., the launch customer for the AutoPower® equipped 400XTi. “The Safe Flight AutoPower® System helps us assure that the Nextant 400XTi meets the highest standards in performance, comfort, and most importantly safety for our customers.”
The Nextant 400XTi AutoPower® System provides increased safety by decreasing pilot workload allowing greater situational awareness. The AutoPower® solution with a stabilized speed target allows more consistent approaches. Studies have shown that AutoPower® increases range. The Nextant ATS solution builds on Safe Flights’ 57 years of experience designing and manufacturing nearly 10,000 AutoPower® systems to date.
